3 Cheers for Aetna Insurance - They're off my High School Drama list for now!!!

Have to write about Aetna Insurance today, since we're in the middle of benefits open enrollment right now at Toyota.  Before this month, they've been so high school about in vitro fertilization, and paid absolutely zero towards any type of treatments for it.  It has been a major sore spot for me and my wife the past year and half.  We've had to pay full price for two cycles (about $30,000 total!!!).  Not to mention all the physical and emotional pain that has gone into 2 friggin failures, arggggghhhhh!!

But, starting on January 1, 2011, Aetna will be paying for 50% of the cost with a $10,000 lifetime maximum...Hurrayy!!!  Gotta jump up and joy for this one.  From zero to 10 grand...not bad, after paying zilch for so many years.
For a very informative resource on how to cut costs during infertility, purchase this pick on Amazon for less than $11:  Budgeting for Infertility: How to Bring Home a Baby Without Breaking the Bank

That is excellent news. Blue Cross/Brown & Toland and Kaiser also paid nothing when we went through this. Blue Cross dropped our small business in the middle of trying, and would have charged $700 a month for me to keep my insurance privately. That is so very high school. Does Aetna only cover diagnosed infertility?

Wow, so high school of them!! I hate some of these insurance companies, who earn so much money from us in premiums and then get so picky about what they will cover when we really need it. My wife (who's had stage 4 lymph node cancer) had to jump through some serious hoops just to get coverage for routine MRI's to make sure the cancer had not come back...Imagine that!!

And yes, I think Aetna covers only diagnosed infertility. You can read all about their specific coverage on their website at http://www.aetna.com/cpb/medical/data/300_399/0327.html

Good luck!!

Howdy would you mind letting me know which hosting company you're using?
I've loaded your blog in 3 different internet browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most.
Can you recommend a good web hosting provider at a honest price?
Many thanks, I appreciate it!
