SCAM ALERT: ACN Communication Services Business Opportunity Is Just as Bad as a Nigerian Bank Fraud Scheme...Or Maybe It's Much Worse!

I’m sure you've all seen the emails from people in Nigeria or one of the other impoverished nations in Western Africa, pleading for money to help in their cause to feed people in these poor and extremely economically challenged nations.  Sometimes they request thousands of dollars along with bank account numbers as well.  Heck I’m sure some also try and get social security numbers to boot.  Hey, at least there is some truth to their motivations, as these countries have witnessed decades of not only money issues but also civil wars in the process.  The people have been seriously beaten down and the poor need some type of relief.  But a scam is a scam, so don’t feel sorry for them too much, as the ones creating these money frauds are the bottom of the barrel thieves.

Now what about those companies and business opportunities that start right here in our own backyard, but have the same motivations of greed and corruption?  Take ACN Communication Services as one example.  On the surface, they seem to operate just like any big telecommunications company, selling various products and services for the home and other personal conveniences (e.g., cell phone service, DSL, satellite, home protection, video phones, etc.).  It looks all well and good from the outside.  But wait a minute, if you get pinged on one of their new representatives list of 100 friends and family to contact first once they get swindled into their business opportunity, then that’s where the evil fun begins (I can’t believe that a former boss of mine got suckered into this and bugged me for weeks to attend a home meeting of hers!).

First off, their reps are taught in sales classes (using sales templates from their upline which are created by the home office sales staff) to hide the reasons why they are inviting their friend over to their home to initially present the business opportunity.  No explanation, no product information, nothing, nada!  They just ask “are you open to hearing about how to make some extra money”, and if they say yes then great…”come to my house tomorrow night!”  Once there, you’re then introduced to a bunch of strangers and offered some water along with a product/services sheet to fill out (that lists out what services you are currently subscribing to).  After sitting through a 45 minute presentation and shown how to potentially make $50,000 – 100,000 per month, you are then given a chance to get involved with the company for a Whopping Low Price of $499!!  And what do you get with the investment…NADA!!  And what’s worse, they encourage you to terminate your cell phone contract, cable contracts, home protection contracts, etc., just so that you can sign up with their plans and maybe save a few measly dollars per month.

And to top it off you’re told to purchase the $29.99 retail website that will assist you in making your sales orders.  So for about $1,000 in your first year ($499 sign up fee, $360 for the website, and $150-300 for cancelling all of your service contracts) you have nothing to show for it except a promise that you'll get endless amounts of training and support from the company.  And all you have to do is recruit 5 people, who recruit 5 people, who recruit 5 more people, and so on and so on, and then you'll make a bunch of scratch from a huge group of people in your network!  It sounds way to good to be true, and you know what it really is.  It's the reason why they feel the need to park very expensive cars out in the parking lot for "show off" purposes before and after their office meetings (e.g., during the meeting I attended there was a Lamborghini, Maserati and AMG Mercedes parked out front).

Do you think the average Joe consumer is better off because of this opportunity, or are the company VP’s and reps at the top of the pyramid going to make 99% of the money??  I think you know the answer to that question.  It boggles my mind to think that the FTC can let these companies stay in business.  I was especially turned off by the income claims that were being thrown around by the some of reps there at the office meeting I attended.  After I did my own independent research I discovered that the average ACN rep earns less than $250...PER YEAR!!  I recommend staying away from these types of companies and go get a legitimate part-time job at home.  I'm sure your wallet will be eternally grateful to you for it!

I wonder how hard they worked selling services that most people already use.

They don't sell they offer options. It's a legit MLM business and it works. You think you know but you don't!!!!

Your average is for those who don't do nothing with there business. Like if you don't go to your corporate American job you don't get paid!!!!

The funny thing is that people don't realize that this is a business. It's just like being a franchisee. You pay $499 to open your own business and have the opportunity to sell mainstream services like Verizon, Sprint, Directv, Comcast, ATT, etc. If you were to open a franchise store, you would typically have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars just to have the right to sell those products. Then you'd have to pay for build out with a retail location. If you want to work as an "employee" and make someone else rich for the rest of your life, then keep on doing what 99% of Americans do. If you want to be in the top 1% of income earners, then do what they do and become a business owner. $499 is incredibly inexpensive for the POTENTIAL to make a lot of money but make no mistake about it; this is not a get rich quick scam. You have to work at building your business and you have to get customers to make any money in MLM. The original poster is just ignorant to a different way of doing business but if people would really do their research, they'd see that this is completely legit. Search Warren Buffett or Donald Trump and MLM and see what they have to say about this business model.

My good friends lawyer just joined ACN after weeks of investigation into REAL sources; the BBB, the Compensation Plan they offer, legal material, 3rd party journalistic reviews, etc. I am now no longer skeptical in joinging his team, because I listened to educated and smart people choosing this business opportunity.
If you are skeptical why don't you do real research instead of a google search. Ask a Lawyer. Besides, how many of us have tried our luck with gambling at a casino before... you'll to tell me that is less of a scam or "money trap" then a business investment with a legel compensation plan, with real peopl who have made real money? hmmm. don't hate, educate.

What is funny people work for a company for 40,000 a year for 30 years and have nothing to show for it. While their employers are making millions or even billions, and only have bad things to say about new ideas. I do agree they do make it seem like it is easy to make lots of money very quickly, but as we know it never that easy.It takes hard work to become successful in any business.

obviously this guy doesn't know what he's talking about! I laugh because this is part of the 97% of people that will always work for the rest of their lives until retirement. When we could just build an empire and not have to work later one. And like anonymous said with services that people are already using. It's free money.
